WOW Game Gold: Are You Hooked?

By Frank Scherer

It's the latest talk in professional circles that psychologists and addiction specialist move in. That is the phenomenon of video game addiction that seems to be growing among players. As a matter of fact many counselors specialize in treating addicts are now voicing an opinion that playing these games habitually can, and often does have the same effect on people that they tend to observe the hard-core drug addicts. The constant craving, unstable behavior, erratic sleep patterns, weight fluctuations, etc.

So today we're witnessing the emergence of a new classification addiction specialist. Treatment counselors who focuses specifically on helping people who have found themselves having trouble controlling their urge to play video games. Particularly World of Warcraft. In fact one internationally recognized expert on the topic is now putting the number at 50% as being amount of people regularly play World of Warcraft who can be classified as addicts.

Now the more commonly recognized traits that are exhibited by today's typical World of Warcraft addict can include but are not confined to the following. Game players who go beyond being simply a participant, but rather see themselves as being an "actual part of the game". Swallowed by the computer screens is to speak. Then another very common trait, is people who play the game for excesses amounts of time. Days turning to weeks. Weeks turning into months.

Than just like drug addicts their addiction will tend to have a negative financial impact. Particularly when they buy gold. It's not enough for them to earn their gold legitimately like a normal player would do. Instead their addiction, just like a drug addict, drives them to break rules. To borrow from friends and relatives as they mismanage their own personal finances in their quest to get more and more WOW gold.

Don't misconstrue this as meaning that simply because you purchased World of Warcraft Gold that you're an addict though. Remember that it's only 50% of the players the qualified as such. You should know however, that buying gold for World of Warcraft does violate the rules and that alone can start you down the slippery slope of addiction. Remember addicts don't play by the rules. They do what it takes to get what they want.

Even so, once you've decided to cross the line and begin purchasing WOW gold, the best thing you can do, is to make certain of two things. First of all, make sure that you get the best deal possible because what you pay for your gold can vary depending on where you buy it online. But most importantly you for sure want avoid being ripped off by scam artists, and they are out there. Con artists who think nothing of taking your money, and leaving you empty-handed.
