I choose to try it out. The ear-cup covers the whole ear and doesn't sit on top of earlobes unlike a few of the other designs.
The sound is crisp and clear.
Nevertheless, I apologize to say the second I put these on, I realized I'd not be able to continue with them. I truly love these headphones and particularly like the switch between movie and music, which actually has a difference!
I would recommend no one to ever buy these things, total and complete disappointment. I personally use these as studio head phones for any internet pod cast. Otherwise, they are excellent, especially for the cost. And don't think these provide great bass response. Worse, there isnt enough there to glue it back or try some repairs. Overall if you're contemplating buying these do it now! They do muffle exterior noise well, but if you touch or move the very first 2 feet or so of cord you'll be able to hear it in the left earcup. They are ideal for what I wanted.
I work in the world of audio/video production, so I have a constant requirement for headphones and other electronics. Now of coarse they do not sound as good as my Sony MDR 7506 however they didn't cost more than $100.00 either. I went to J&R with the thought of buying this off-the-shelf. Normal headphones either trigger feedback (a frustrating whistling sound) from the assistive hearing devices or require that the assistive hearing devices be totally eliminated in order to use the headphones. The merchandise I received has a single, long, 10 foot cord. They have great sound and I mosty use these cool headphones for home use. For the cost I consider this item very economical and an option for those who wants much better sound than earphones or want some thing comfortable. They've survived many drops, pulls on the wire, puppy chewing on them, and even a couple of indignant tosses. Also, when put them on, I keep hearing this strange echo, even unplugged.
There's only really two bad things I'm able to find about these infrared wireless headphones.
Fantastic pair of headphones.
Distinct crisp sound in these rf wireless headphones. They have comparable quality of sound as your 10 dollar rf wireless headphones you purchase at Best Buy. Your ears will start to sweat eventually, but that actually can not be helped. The majority of the weight is supported on top of the head.
